Cinquième tête de série, Tinne Gilis a battu l'Anglaise Katie Malliff (PSA 23) 3-1 (11-8, 11-9, 10-12 et 11-7). Au prochain tour, l'Américaine Amanda Sobhy (PSA 10) ou la Néo-Zélandaise Joelle King (PSA 49) lui sera opposée.


Nele Gilis-Coll a perdu son match d'ouverture contre l'Égyptienne Salma Hany (PSA 13) 3-0 (11-5, 11-8 et 11-9).
