Vandenbogaerde, 52 ans, 68e au classement mondial, a battu 6-3 le Gallois Jonny Clayton (PDC 6) grâce à un départ canon qui lui a permis de mener 5-0.


Il rencontrera le Néerlandais Danny Noppert (PDC 15) en huitièmes de finale.


Kim Huybrechts (PDC 49) a été battu 6-3 par l'Anglais James Wade (PDC 5). Mike De Decker (PDC 19) s'est incliné sur le même score contre l'Allemand Martin Schindler (PDC 17).
