Championnat d'Europe de snooker - Kevin Hanssens seul Belge qualifié pour les huitièmes de finale

Hanssens, 41 ans, a débuté sa phase à élimination directe par une victoire 4-1 contre l'Écossais Amaan Iqbal avant d'enchaîner contre le Roumain Iustin Scripei (4-0) pour assurer sa place en huitièmes de finale.


Pour une place en quarts de finale, le Flandrien rencontrera l'Irlandais Benny O'Brien, tête de série N.2 du tableau après la phase de poule.


Alain Vandersteen et Olivier Pechenart, les deux autres Belges qualifiés pour la phase à élimination directe, se sont arrêtés dès les 32es de finale après des défaites respectives contre le Français Nicolas Montreux et l'Ukrainien Pedro Sydorenko.
