WTA Rovereto - Sofia Costoulas naar kwartfinales

In de tweede ronde ging Costoulas, het zesde reekshoofd, in drie sets voorbij de Kroatische Jana Fett (WTA 194): 6-4, 3-6 en 6-3 na 2 uur en 17 minuten.

Bij de laatste acht staat Costoulas eerstdaags tegenover de winnares van het duel tussen het Letse topreekshoofd Darja Semenistaja (WTA 92) en de Duitse Noma Noha Akugue (WTA 240).

De twintigjarige Costoulas is de enige landgenote op de tabel in Rovereto. Vorige week strandde de jonge Limburgse nog in de tweede ronde van het ITF W75-toernooi in het Portugese Quinta do Lago.
