Tour de France Femmes - Demi Vollering gaat naar ziekenhuis voor controle na val in derde Tourrit

Vollering was betrokken bij een grote valpartij op ongeveer 3,5 kilometer van de finish bij een scherpe bocht naar rechts. Ook geletruidraagster Kimberley Le Court en landgenote Puck Pieters kwamen daarbij ten val.


Vollering bleef het langst staan na de val en kwam met hulp van ploeggenoten ruim 6 minuten na Wiebes over de finish. Ze was in tranen in de ploegbus, maar ging daarna ook uitrijden.


"Demi wilde per se uitrijden op de rollen, dus dat is een goed teken", zei Delcourt. "Ze wil doorrijden in deze Tour, maar zo'n klap kan toch gevolgen hebben. We gaan nu naar het ziekenhuis om dat te checken. Ze klaagt over pijn aan haar knie, bil en rug."
